Feature request: cohort retention chart in analytics

By marcusd ·

The analytics dashboard is great for daily/weekly metrics, but I'd love to see a cohort retention chart — something that shows what percentage of members who joined in week X are still active in week X+1, X+2, etc.

This is the #1 metric I track for community health and right now I have to export member data and build the chart myself in a spreadsheet.

What I'm imagining

Cohort Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4
Jan 1 100% 68% 52% 45%
Jan 8 100% 71% 55%
Jan 15 100% 65%

Would be incredibly valuable for anyone serious about community growth. Anyone else want this?

YES. This is the one thing missing from the analytics for me. I'm currently pulling this data via the API and building charts in Retool. Native support would save me hours every month.

+1. Cohort analysis is essential for understanding if your community is actually retaining people vs. just growing top-of-funnel. Would also love to see it broken down by acquisition source if possible (organic, invite, embed, etc.).

Huge +1. Coming from Circle, this was the one analytics feature I missed (they don't have it either, but I was hoping Outpost would). The API workaround works but native would be so much better.

Love this idea and it's been on our radar. Bumping priority based on the interest here. The data model already supports it — we track join dates and activity timestamps — so it's mainly a frontend visualization task.

Will update this thread when we ship it. Tentatively targeting next month.
