Terms of Service
Effective Date: March 14, 2026
Last Updated: March 14, 2026
Welcome to Outpost! These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the rules for using our platform. By signing up or using Outpost, you agree to follow them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. What is Outpost?
Outpost is a community platform hosted at outpost.ninja where people can create and join communities, post discussions, share ideas, and connect with others. When we say "Content," we mean anything you post — text, images, files, polls, reactions, and messages.
2. Who Can Use Outpost?
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your Account
- You need a valid email address to sign up
- Keep your login secure — you're responsible for your account's activity
- Don't share your login credentials with others
- Don't create fake accounts or accounts to get around bans
- We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules
4. What You Can't Post
The following content is strictly prohibited. Breaking these rules can result in your content being removed, your account being banned, and your community being deleted — without warning or refund:
- Pornography or sexually explicit material — nudity, sexual content, or suggestive material of any kind
- Child exploitation material — absolutely prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement
- Graphic violence or gore — content that glorifies or promotes violence
- Hate speech — content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Illegal activity — anything that promotes or helps with illegal activities
- Harassment or threats — bullying, doxxing, stalking, or threatening others
- Non-consensual intimate images — sharing private images of someone without their permission
- Spam and scams — phishing, fraud, or junk content
- Impersonation — pretending to be someone you're not
- Stolen content — posting content that belongs to someone else without permission
We reserve the sole and absolute right to decide what counts as inappropriate content. Our decisions are final. We don't have to explain why something was removed.
5. Play Fair
Beyond the prohibited content above, don't:
- Try to break into other people's accounts or communities
- Collect or scrape data from the platform without permission
- Spam communities with unwanted promotions
- Try to break or overload the platform
- Use Outpost for anything that could get us in legal trouble
6. Your Content, Your Responsibility
- You own what you post. We don't claim ownership of your content.
- By posting, you give us permission to display and share your content as part of running the platform
- You're responsible for everything you post. We don't review content before it goes live, and we're not liable for what users share.
- We can remove any content at any time, for any reason, without notice
If you believe someone posted your copyrighted content without permission, contact us at khalid@outpost.ninja with details and we'll look into it.
7. We Can Remove Communities
This is important:
Outpost reserves the right to:
- Remove any content we consider inappropriate, harmful, or against these Terms — even if it's not specifically listed above
- Ban any user account without warning
- Delete any community entirely — including all its content, members, and data — without notice and without refund
- Change, pause, or shut down any part of the service at any time
- Refuse service to anyone
We don't have to keep backups of removed content.
If you run a community, you agree that:
- Having a community on Outpost is a privilege, not a right
- You're responsible for what gets posted in your community
- If you don't remove prohibited content, we may delete your entire community
- No refunds if your community is removed for breaking the rules
8. Running a Community
- Community owners set the rules for their communities, but those rules can't be looser than these Terms
- Owners can appoint admins and moderators to help manage things
- Owners are expected to actively moderate their communities and remove prohibited content promptly
- Our platform team can override any community decision if needed to protect the platform or its users
9. Plans and Payments
- We offer Free, Pro, and Business plans with different features and limits
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly
- You can cancel anytime — you'll keep access until the end of your billing period
- Refunds are handled case by case
- No refunds if your account or community is shut down for breaking these Terms
- We may change pricing with 30 days notice
- Downgrading may mean losing access to some features
10. Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Check our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
11. No Guarantees
- Outpost is provided "as is" — we do our best, but we can't promise it will always be perfect or available
- We are not responsible for content posted by users. What people post is on them, not us. We're a hosting platform.
- We're not responsible for decisions made by community owners, admins, or moderators
- Features like AI summaries and smart moderation are helpful tools, but they're not perfect
12. Limits on Our Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Outpost is not liable for any damages arising from:
- Your use of (or inability to use) the platform
- Content posted by any user
- Actions of any user, community owner, admin, or moderator
- Unauthorized access to your data
Our total liability to you will never exceed what you've paid us in the last 12 months.
13. You're Responsible for Your Actions
If your use of Outpost, your content, or your violation of these Terms causes us legal problems, you agree to cover our costs — including legal fees. If you run a community, this includes content posted by your members.
14. Closing Your Account
- You can delete your account anytime by contacting us
- Community owners can delete their communities, which permanently removes everything in them
- We can close your account, delete your communities, or remove your content at any time, for any reason, with or without notice
- We don't have to explain why
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Outpost evolves. We'll let you know about big changes through the platform. If you keep using Outpost after changes go live, that means you accept them. If you disagree, stop using the service.
16. Legal Bits
- These Terms are governed by the laws where Outpost operates
- If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies
- These Terms (plus the Privacy Policy) are the full agreement between you and Outpost
